SHANGHAI!ahhh Shanghai...i'm glad i got to go somewhere and get a chop in my passport that isn't brunei immigration. anyway shanghai was pretty...okay i guess. i don't like the crowds and feeling multiple elbows in my back. i hate the sounds the people make when they clear their throats and nose and subsequently spit or blow their nose onto the ground eewww and i get turned off at the sight of multiple rows of meats and pork trotters lying out on the street stalls...ick.
got to eat lots of cherries and lychees :D and the MRT system was very clear and easy to understand too.
the places they brought us on tour were not bad but i hate the hardsell they do at tourist traps like the stupid tea and silk factory and the chinese medicine place. there was another place too but i can't remember what the heck it was. oh yeah the jade and precious stones shop. food was horrible because we were brought to restaurants specialising in tour groups... big fail in that department.
world expo...it was nice to see the exterior of the buildings...i would much rather go to the country itself of course. and waiting 6 hours to get into a pavilion was crazy...no way i would waste my time doing that so we didn't go in any of the pavilions but we snapped pictures instead. walked from one end of the expo to the other feeling my feet breaking wtf. the buses were crowded (of course) and yeah the people were just disgustingly rude. i've no clue why they keep rushing because it's not like the entire expo is going to close down in 5 minutes or something. idiots.
shopping was great :D only because i bought a lot :D but i didn't have enough money else i could've bought more COUGH COUGH and moonchan doesn't buy cheap things *admit* i love uniqlo and i want to stay at uniqlo on nanjing west road for 1 week and buy the whole shop up.
anyway i'll try to do a day by day breakdown...keyword being try because i didn't take photos at some places and towards the end i was too pissed off to take taekchan out wtf.
but jjoonie worked hard this trip. the earphones are getting dirty and the skin is peeling off the cover...and poor usachan's face is fading too...
DAY 1 - landed in Shanghai, thought we would get dumped at the hotel and be left to our own devices but we were brought to dinner at this hideously tourist trap restaurant with mediocre food...a sign of what would come throughout the entire trip _ _
BUT! there were cherries :D
These were local cherries which were small and kinda sour _ _
and imported cherries from the US _ _ which we see in Malaysia and Brunei (imported mah)
hotel room...we were placed at holiday inn express outside town and _ _ fail because i shared a room with mama so the sofa bed was my bed for a week. but it was ok because it wasn't too springy and i was basically tired out every night so i konked out on it anyway. spot jaechan :D
first day in shanghai so looked passable before i realised i looked fugly in every subsequent picture i took of myself in shanghai _ _

DAY 2 ate here for lunch...food was unmemorable. pork trotters were disgusting. multiple stalls selling the same products. this was at Zhu Jia Jiao...朱家角

after that we went to the Shanghai Film Park for what reason I don't know but I have lots of sepia pics of the old Shanghai building sets.

and after that we went to Qibao Street for some street food which were somehow all unappealing to me.
Stinky tofu...it wasn't bad. not stinky. but oil was hideously black
after some street food we went to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower which had a long queue as usual. my feet was ready to snap off at this point and i had serious blisters from my new shoes :(
this was my 'i'm damn tulan can you faster take a clear pic of me' face. seriously i was RAWRing because i snapped a quick (AND CLEAR) pic of my parents and my dad took such a long time and i could tell his hands were moving so obviously the pic came out BLUR like duh.........................no wonder i prefer taking the pictures because i'm a control freak in the first place urgh anyway totally bad pic because i'm wearing red and there's a red light behind me roll my eyes

feet aching in nike shoes :( i couldn't even explore the history of shanghai wax museum on the ground floor properly because my feet hurt so bad i literally felt like i couldn't walk. scary
